# CHAPTER XI: Presentation of a Laboratory Report
Generally there are some variations in the presentation of laboratory reports in different science subjects. However all laboratory reports have 5 parts:
1. A title
2. Some introductory remarks
3. A description of the procedure or method's used
4. A record of results
5. Concluding remarks
In physics you may present your laboratory report with the following headings:
1. Title of experiment.
2. Introduction. Give the background information leading to the Aim, Theory or Hypothesis of your experiment.
3. Aim. Give a precise statement of the objective(s) of the experiment.
4. Apparatus. List the apparatus and materials used in the experiment. If possible draw a neat diagram, especially of non-standard equipment.
5. Theory. Give a short summary of the theory related to the experiment. Present the derivation of the formula used in analyzing the experiment. If the experiment concerns electricity, draw the circuit diagram.
6. Procedure. Explain how you performed the experiment; that is to say, what method you used. Do this in the past tense and not as a set of instructions from a laboratory manual.

Wacek Kijewski: born in Poland, studied electronics, telecommunication, acoustics and pedagogy. He taught science in Poland, Hungary and became Lecturer and Principal Tutor in Nigeria and Botswana.
